Literary discoveries

“To read is to travel; to travel is to read.” — Victor Hugo

As part of Reading Month we will be in schools to share our passion for literature.

The activity Literary discoveries aims to introduce students to works written by authors from Black communities. By going directly to schools with a selection of varied books, this initiative makes it possible to broaden the literary horizon of young people and to introduce them to writers who are sometimes less present in our school career.

Through these meetings, the activity seeks, among other things, to arouse the pleasure of reading, to encourage curiosity and to develop interest in literature in all its forms. This allows students to explore new voices, stories, and perspectives while strengthening their reading and critical thinking skills.

Finally, Literary discoveries is part of an approach to valorizing cultural diversity. By spotlighting authors and stories from Black communities, the activity promotes inclusion, recognition of multiple identities, and respect for differences, thereby contributing to education that is more open and representative of the world around us.
